Kingsley House Adult Day Care, works to enhance the quality of life and autonomy for adults while maximizing their dignity and respect.
Our holistic approach allows for individuals to remain in their homes and engaged in the community; while simultaneously allowing our qualified staff to support the family unit. We provide peace of mind to our participants and those who love them.
While at the center, participants are given the opportunity to socialize, receive nursing services, case management, and personalized nutritious meals and snacks. Participants are engaged in fun and stimulating activities daily. Recreational and educational activities include: games, cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts, sewing and knitting, music therapy, exercise programs, computer classes, line dancing, intergenerational programming with our Early Learning students, and themed parties and events. In addition, participants are offered the opportunities to participate in field trips that range from shopping trips to museum tours.
Modified programming is in place to ensure social distancing and mitigation requirements. The Adult Day Care program has received guidance from the Louisiana Department of Health, Governor’s Office of Elderly Affairs, and local government to operate the Adult Day Care in a safe capacity during this time.
All participants receive a holistic care plan designed specifically for them. Individuals are assisted and monitored by Direct Service Workers during their time on campus. Our experienced nursing staff is available on-site to coordinate care with physicians and healthcare professionals, perform assessments and wellness checks, medication administration, and answer health questions from participants and staff. The nursing staff monitors chronic conditions and health histories, blood glucose levels, vitals, and overall health to ensure that participants are receiving coordinated and effective healthcare.
Our carefully designed day program includes recreational and educational activities like arts and crafts, exercise programs, music therapy, games, activities and field trips to community and cultural locations daily. The program offers engaging activities and clubs to improve moral and overall health, while fostering meaningful relationships with peers. Participants can join the following clubs; gardening club, Rosen club, coffee club, sewing club, jewelry club, or walking club.
