About Us
Founded in 1896, Kingsley House, a United Way community impact partner, has served the children and families of New Orleans through times of dramatic change for 116 years. From the challenges immigrants faced at the turn of the 20th century, to today’s momentous challenges of recovery and rebuilding in our city and region, Kingsley House remains a safe haven to countless children and families and a beacon of hope for our community’s future.
Our mission — “Kingsley House educates children, strengthens families and builds community” — remains vital to this day. Each year, we provide nationally accredited and state certified programs to over 7,000 infants, children, youth, parents, senior citizens and medically fragile adults from 12 parishes throughout Southeastern Louisiana.

Kingsley House values our rich history of helping to improve the lives of families in the communities we serve. While specific programs have changed throughout the years, we have retained our fundamental mission to educate children, strengthen families and build community for more than 113 years.

People
At the heart of Kingsley House are the people that comprise our family. We have a staff that provides nationally accredited and state certified services to thousands of program participants each year, a volunteer Board of Directors that provides overall guidance to the agency, and a wide network of partners to help us in accomplishing our mission.

Where We Work
Our Main Campus is located in the Lower Garden District and we have an office in New Orleans East. We now serve the following parishes in Southeast Louisiana: Orleans, Jefferson, Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Terrebonne.
